Recording a program broadcast at an awkward time of day to watch later is hardly anal

In a era of catch-up TV and the internet it seems a bit unnecessary.

Also - fresh air. A couple of hours of TV per week max is more than enough.

Depends entirely on what you want.

I find it's so much easier to put loads on record and watch what we like when we like rather than finding we missed something we wanted to see and have to play catch-up.

So you watch about 17 mins of tv per day. Not a Corrie fan then...?

Each to their own...

Interesting Press Conference yesterday at the publication of the report into alleged Russian interference in UK democratic processes.

There was evidence that Russia attempted to interfere in the Scottish independence vote, however,  no evidence that they attempted to interfere in the EU referendum.

The reason?  Because the UK Government did not bother to ask if there was any interference in the EU referendum. Can't help but think that is because it delivered the result they wanted but hey ho.

The Security Council also pointed out that politicians (on both sides of the house) were taking sizable donations from Russian Oligarchs which must also be questionable.

The criticism of No. 10 at the start of the press conference was also surprising.  They pointed out how many untruths No.10 had made in reference to the delays in publishing the report.

Most days none.

In these most dreadful of times, for 2020 some 65,000 UK excess deaths, don't you see the need to keep yourself informed? After all, despite the usual nasty party attempts to muzzle the BBC, it's still the most trusted media outlet on the planet.

Still, as I posted previously, each to their own...

It was heavily redacted as well. However it's highly amusing how Bozo and Cummings were totally outflanked by one of the few tories left with any integrity. This made me smile:

You can almost sense how it's dripping with hatred.

One member of t'committee went on Newsnight accusing Bozo of arrogance, lying and ineptitude. So business as usual then.....

But it's really piss-poor from a country prestige point of view that folks can go on national tv and accuse the PM of lying and there's absolutely nothing number 10 can do about it.

Because it's 100% accurate.

Hardly revolutionary. In an open society, people do it all the time without consequence. Same even in a closed society, the only difference being that you then disappear never to be seen again. Can you name a country where the leadership is universally acclaimed as totally virtuous?

The Vatican?  :)

The leadership of other countries is of no concern.

Do you pay the licence fee?

Yes.

It doesn't especially bother me. If anything I'm more bothered about old fashioned radio and TV (state and commercial) in general still getting all that valuable spectrum space. Especially the hugely bandwidth wasteful analogue services. I'd shut the whole transmitter network down and repurpose all that spectrum. Or else make the radio and TV stations pay proper market rates.
