woolley
Well I doubt it would be the BBC themselves. On R4 Today this morning they had a conversation going about how people are turning to books like Orwell's 1984 in their depression about Trump. Feelings about Trump were blithely compared to the way people thought about Hitler. Bloody disgrace they are.

pongo
On R4 Today this morning they had a conversation going about how people are turning to books like Orwell's 1984 in their depression about Trump. Feelings about Trump were blithely compared to the way people thought about Hitler. Bloody disgrace they are. Why is that a disgrace? I feel rather like that about eg Steve Bannon, who seems to be basically running Trump now. But who wants to leave no White House paper trail. It seems extraordinary and very worrying that people with white supremacist views are usurping Generals and experts. People who glibly talk about Judeo-Christian "culture" being threatened by Islam and the Chinese. And the need for war. We used to wonder how the public ever allowed the regime in Germany to gain control. Though like Bannon it came to power via an ostensibly democratic process. mojomonkey
Its got to be so confusing for some people, one minute they distrust everything the BBC says and the next they believe them. Do you think they should stick to Team Trump's alternative facts, and 2+2=5 crowd counting reports, instead of nonsense about 1984 parallels?
