Oh but they will - unless they are restricting business to markets where EU regs and standards won’t apply. Or maybe you and Liam Fox think the world will defer to the kitemark?

only on exports to the eu, not uk trade internally or the rest of the world....

You’ll find, as with Japan, that most markets have harmonised regs and standards with the EU. The U.K. has decided to adopt all the EU regs to begin with too, so it’ll be awhile until your dreams of companies specially fitting out their factories with British Standard Whitworth for the British market come to fruition.

Anyway, back to my original question, has anyone heard of any genuine opportunities thanks to Brexit? I don’t count a change of passport colour or anything else that’s purely symbolic.

Yep.

Apparently the UK Border Force is going to have a massive expansion program. They are expecting their workload to increase around the 400% mark thanks to Brexit.

So lots of (expensive) employment opportunities there.

Surprised David "Fall Guy" Davis isn't banging that recruitment drum...

There will probably be similar parallels to the US border force after Drumpf's "immigrants are bad" push.

USBF recruitment went into over drive.  However, to meet new staffing level targets quickly, recruitment standards slipped and the number of disciplinary cases and "dishonourable" discharges increased at a staggering rate.

Corruption charges also saw a marked increase as well.

"Nigel Farage has said it may be time to hold a second referendum on Brexit to put an end to the “moaning” of politicians who have not accepted the previous vote.

The ex-Ukip leader argued that leading political figures who have been arguing against Brexit would “never, ever, ever” stop fighting it and so the best way to draw a line under the issue could be a second public vote."

Farage is trying to get back into the media spotlight, where there's muck there's brass.

I can't see the point of a second referendum. Firstly, there has already been a referendum and I personally feel you have to respect the will of the people. Secondly, if the outcome of a second referendum were to remain we'd effectively have a draw, which presumably would need a third referendum to decide (or possibly they'd have a penalty shootout). Thirdly, if the outcome was leave again it will have achieved nothing new anyway. Fourthly, a new referendum would cost a stupid amount of money.
