woody2
talkin' about hilda reminds me that what is now classed as "the poor" would’ve been in the top 25% in 1980 in real terms..... they also paid more % of income in rent..... of course back then they didn't have new ipads, iphones, netflix, sky, gym membership, cheap booze, takeaways and foreign holidays as "the poor" have now.....

Freggyragh
I like JRM, he’s just playing his way to the seat in the Lords his old man had with his daft Brexit game. Good to have unusual, contrary views in Parliament. For a bespectacled man who’s never done a stroke of manual labour he’s very brave too. Finally the oaf posts something that isn’t complete bollix, but forgets to post the link. This is what he was referring to: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-42926535?ns_mchannel=social&ns_campaign=bbc_politics&ns_source=twitter&ns_linkname=news_central

The tories couldn’t handle the treasury experts so they set up the office of budgetary responsibility, and of course a hand-picked team at the department for exiting the EU - they’ve all reached the same conclusions and are now under attack for not having the blind faith to go along with gum-chewer Davis. They've all reached the same conclusion because they are all the same type of euro enthusiastic globalising liberals. Same types who gave us project fear, failed to see the banking crisis and promised us armageddon if we didn't join the euro. Of course they are under attack, and so they should be. 1

Freggyragh
It was Dave Ramsden, the Treasury’s Chief Economic Advisor, who drew up the ‘5 tests’ and compiled the treasury assessments that, with Ed Ball’s support and Gordon Brown’s willingness to listen, stopped Blair from joining the Euro.
