ballaughbiker
Quote Don't ever, ever try and claim that the brexiteers knew what they were voting for..... Trouble is PK, the binary question was phrased so generally anyone voting out could readily match their aspirations to it. Whether out out out 'no matter what the cost' all the way to sensible reasons for out and everything in between can match the question as put. Nobody, including those who really ought to have known (politicians) was fully aware of the result of voting but arguing that point now is futile as above shows. One point is unarguable. We know considerably more now than we did on referendum day and even the most committed* leavers couldn't reasonably allege it's mostly good news. If it all ends up with a big bag of shit with minimal benefits somewhere within that shit, one thing is certain. It will always be your fault in the committed's eyes not theirs. * not the first description to mind but I'm determined not to follow the usual suspects' playground language for ridicule/wind up purposes. Absolutely. Of course, all the brexiteers will blame anyone they can think of with the negotiating team undoubtedly copping most of it. The fact the negotiators were fucked over (and thus the country at large) by the rifts in the tory party due mostly to the brexit zealots looking out for themselves certainly won't get a mention in the UK right-wing press, which is to say pretty much all of it. The brexiteers will never, ever, in a gazillion years, blame themselves for their uninformed choice of course. mojomonkey
Would you say the Conservative Party was more leave or more remain? I suspect more leave, which begs the question why didn't they vote a "winner" as Prime Minister? I think many are simply laying down their excuses early.
