+ the other 2 #fakenews you've dodge with this am...... Standard and Poors don't know as much as Woody's twitter feeds.

Then there is, today, Barclays asking to move £250 bn to Dublin. Yeah they don't know anything either.

#fakenews

didn't you hear the budget.......

Yeah but the warnings get ever louder by the day and we ignore them (perhaps because they don't agree with our initial stance) at our peril.

Standard & Poors this morning?  We really can't just continue to keep saying fake news/project fear/any other old bollox to make us feel better. Reality will bite whatever we say.

Eh? So say nothing? Really?

What warnings and from who?

I take the view that those who voted brexit have deliberately diminished the future opportunities that my kids would have had.

Thanks for that....

An interesting hypothesis:lol:

Hypothesis???!!!

Heard this morning that one of my young nephews who left uni and got a job in Berlin has had his application for German citizenship accepted.

That's the reality....

I would question that those who voted had your children in mind at the time.

We are all motivated by self interest as you have clearly demonstrated .

Students on this island have , I'm led to believe, get greater financial assistance than those across and may subsequently  make no financial contribution to the islands , or in your nephews case(?) the UK via tax .

so tell him "thanks for that".

Nobody IMO has the right to demand  that others owe them a living .

Sorry but before I make any decision in life I won't be saying to myself "Hang on a minute will this adversely  affect PK or his family"

Hope this helps:flowers:

A very typical response from a Brexiteer on yet another brexit downer. In fact it's such a classic it's a strong contender for my Brexit Bullshit Hall Of Fame.

When the Brexiteers were spouting off all their usual lies, half-truths and false promises about the ridiculous "taking back control of our borders" nonsense strange but true they seem to have omitted a certain salient fact. That is the nation states that make up the EU, including the UK, make their own national rules as concerns the treatment of non-EU citizens arriving at their borders i.e. it's outside of the jurisdiction of the EU.

Now come March 30th all UK citizens will be considered non-EU citizens and may well come under the same rigorous rules of entry as any other non-EU citizen trying to gain entry into a country in the EU. The so-called "deal" may include a "grace period" but I doubt it. Because the EU countries owe us nothing and it's outside of EU jurisdiction plus they would have to amend their national legislation with potential political fallout.

This is why my nephew has applied for German citizenship. Of course he will want to move on and hopefully up possibly still in Berlin but equally possibly elsewhere in the EU. He can only do that as an EU citizen. His application has been accepted so he's entered the process but still a way to go.

From memory my dealings with Lunatic House and pre-EU immigration to work abroad you will need a visa, guaranteed job offer to get a work permit, guaranteed accommodation, sponsers and guarantors should you fall on hard times, medical insurance etc etc all designed to make sure you do not become a burden on the host country.

So Paswat, how much more difficult do you think it will be post brexit getting a job in the EU for an alien compared to being an EU citizen?

Paswat your post above makes absolutely NO mention of the subject to hand. Just a load of irrelevant, off topic obfuscation. But as far as Brexit "ignore the uncomfortable issue" Bullshit goes it's an absolute classic!

Apparently applications for Irish citizenship are at an all-time high.

Can you guess why that is...?

Hope this helps  :flowers:

What’s the tip Woody? All you’ve done for weeks is shout #fakenews and stick your head in the sand every time you lose an argument. When you make a stupid claim about current facts like, say, how many FTAs the EU has, I can’t very well go to a bookies and make a bet that you’re wrong - the dogs in the street know you’re wrong and anyone with an internet connection can check it. You see, betting is about predicting the future, not checking stupid claims or simple comprehension. But, if you make a clear prediction about future economic or political trends or results, anything tangible and verifiable, that you think will occur within the next month, I will put money on you getting it wrong.

your nephew sounds as dumb as you......

Macron, assuming that is who you mean, can only speak for France.

Visas are different from Work Permits.

I have stated on this site previously that  I was entitled to vote but didn't , perhaps you should do a bit more research before you make false claims .

My response was in response to your assertions that those who voted 'against'  did so  in order to make your kids suffer , demonstrably  a nonsense.

I was merely correcting your  inaccurate statements and assertions.

I have to say I find your attitude , given that I have tried to respond in a civil manner , a tad 'unfortunate'

Hope this helps.

If they're bringing something to society, technological skills for example then it shouldn't be a problem...
