Gove, Leadsom, Fox and Crabb also went for the leadership. They all dropped out at various stages as the voting became clear. She was put in charge by Tory MPs. The Conservative Party put a remainer in charge.

She went through the leadership election process and was the last remaining candidate. She did not become PM by magic, the process is clear, her party put her there. They put a remainer in charge. Freggyragh
It took a while, but I’ve got to admit it, the way she’s going about saving the UK from Brexit is pretty impressive. Even the opportunist leavers who didn’t understand the consequences but do now are going to get away with it. If they thought there was any chance of Brexit working they’d have put their letters in right away - but for now they’re all sighing with relief as their lies aren’t going to wreak the damage they unwittingly campaigned for.
ballaughbiker
Quote #guesswork i have always wanted a #cleanexit from the eu....... its called leaving the eu.... plus the £54 billion will come in handy....... Bet you didn't even read the Economist opinion. Still I suppose Woody knows much better than them. Btw I wouldn't spend that Xbn just yet. It might be needed setting up replacement legal and regulation authorities that we currently have by virtue of EU membership. Go on, read the article and critique it a little bit more than the 3 seconds it takes to type "#guesswork".

Freggyragh
Fair play to Woody2 - he might have had a prolonged meltdown fit, but at least he’s still around and sticking to his guns even though the obvious truth is that the EU held all the cards all along, and for them it was the easiest deal ever. The best deal the U.K. could get is a much, much shitier deal than full membership - and if May doesn’t hurry up and sign it they’ll up the bill, take Gibraltar, and slam the door on her arse on her way out. But, there is one heroic leaver lady who’ll stand up against the people’s vote - and its non other than Woody’s favourite object of fascination: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-deal-fresh-second-referendum-leave-win-diane-abbott-final-say-labour-party-a8649256.html Edited November 23, 2018 by Freggyragh
the stinking enigma
There's a quite beautiful synchronicity to it all. I predict wedding bells within the next 10 years.
