Accidentally ended up looking at some figures  numbers.

In the last year there have been 277,000 non-EU folks coming to the UK. Also 101,000 EU citizens which is down on previous years due, of course, to brexit uncertainty. Before the brexit-blinded play the "Migrants forced on us by the EU" nonsensical card just 21,666 were refugees seeking asylum. The others are work-placements and those here to study etc etc.

Of the refugees seeking asylum 15,430 had their applications refused and were returned. Which is around the 70% mark.

Ironically it seems that the shortage of EU workers has meant more non-EU migrants coming here. What a fucking HOOT that is!

"Taking back control of our borders" -  Errrrrr... Yeah... Right.....

Another little snippet:

" According to the government’s latest review on immigration, by the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC), immigrants contribute more to the public purse on average than native-born Britons do. Moreover, European newcomers are the most lucrative group among them. The MAC reckons that each additional migrant from the European Economic Area (EEA) will make a total contribution to the public purse of approximately £78,000 over his or her lifetime (in 2017 prices). Last year, the average adult migrant from the EEA yielded £2,370 more for the Treasury than the average British-born adult did. Even so, the MAC recommended refining the current immigration system to remove the cap on high-skilled migrants and also said that no special treatment should be given to EU citizens."

Those bloody foreigners!

Coming over here with their................ work ethic.

Would a brexiteer, let's face it there's enough of them on here,  please explain how "taking back control of our borders" will somehow magically alter the amount of labour the country clearly has a shortfall of?

Thanks.

In the absence of anything else other than #Woodyfacts I’ll go with the ons figures thanks. Interesting that you highlighted the number for non-British born - 15.6 million. If only 3.8 million of these are from the U.K. then over 75% of immigration is not from the EU at all. It seems to me the U.K. has either chosen to allow these people in (invited them to come back in the fifties and sixties) or chosen not to enforce the rules that it had complete control over - probably because they deem immigration to be good for the economy.

from your link......

"Estimates from the Labour Force Survey"

not fact....

the numbers in the uk are based on a airport survey- not fact.......

anyone that says they are not staying longer than 12 months aren't counted......

anyone who stays in the uk after a number of years is also not counted.....

the eu has a different figure so does the last census.......

:whistling:

Remarkable simplicity of "thought" to assume that if you aren't working you are a drain on the economy.

Ever considered it is possible to support yourself financially?...... Nah, it's much easier to conveniently forget that to enable regular use of the "scum" epithet.

for correction......

the 15.6m is residents, so it would be plus the guestimate of 3.8m immigrants......

50/50 split of eu/rest of world so......

7.8+3.8=11.6 million......

I would like you to justify the £15k pppy figure that is paid to supposedly support a wealthy self funding EU migrant.

Without justification it is just another woodyfact.

its a approx figure.......

police,fire,nhs,schools etc......

the list is massive.....

or do you think one rich eu person doesn't cost the same pppy in gov. spending as the millions of eu scum.......

its the average costs of providing services across the board.......
