All that says is that fit, healthy young people from the EU come to work in the U.K., whilst U.K. pensioners go to Europe to retire. Seems you don’t want that. You’d prefer to have more sick and elderly Brits prevented from enjoying their retirement in the sun, and less of those fit, healthy productive people coming to work in the U.K. From expatfocus;

To be more specific, at least 70,000 British retirees are eligible to use the healthcare system in Spain but fewer than 80 Spanish senior citizens are covered by the NHS. Similarly, around 43,000 British pensioners have been registered to use the healthcare service in France; this is a very high figure compared to the 201 senior French citizens that are covered by the NHS.

Demographics do indeed account for about half of the discrepancy, and always will, but it isn't the whole story. Some interesting data here and in the onward links: https://fullfact.org/health/how-much-does-uk-recover-health-costs-eu/

As reported, one of the biggest problems is that the NHS bureaucracy is very poor and wasteful in recording and claiming back costs to which it is entitled for treating citizens of EU states. NHS bureaucracy is very poor and wasteful in everything it does so this should not surprise us. NHS could and should reclaim £340m rather than £50m. We cannot blame the EU for this, but obviously it should be addressed, although in the context of the rapidly growing £150bn NHS budget it is small beer.

ETA: Of course, nobody is going to have their retirement in the sun curtailed any more than anyone is going to have their career in the UK disrupted.

Assuming one can loose if one is blocked from taking part, "you" apparently won because Vote Leave is said to have committed the largest breach of campaign finance law in British history.

Undemocratic. Face it.

You are correct - but for the opposite reason. The campaign financing was skewed in favour of Remain.

This "cheating by Leave" sour grapes accusation is one of those things that is in danger of being accepted as fact through constant repetition. It defies logic and simply doesn't stand scrutiny.

If you are claiming flawed democracy, you have to take into account the £9 million of taxpayers' money that the government poured into its pro-Remain Project Fear leaflet delivered to each and every household. There was no equivalent for pro-Leave publicity. That £9 million stands alone. It is obviously not included in the £7 million permitted budget for each campaign.

If we can take this BBC report as gospel (at our peril) .......

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-39075244

...... we see that "a total of more than £32m was spent on the campaign - with the Leave side funded by donations totalling £16.4m, outgunning the Remain side's £15.1m."  Of course, conveniently, this does not mention the £9 million of government spending exclusively on Remain so, if we add that into the mix, the remain total jumps to £24.1 million, almost 50% more than leave.

In the light of the head start given to Remain through the power of the government machine and taxpayers' money, it is a bit rich of the losing side to be crying foul after the fact.

It has gone beyond Remain/Leave etc. Down on my manor we can see it. Local private hospital doing NHS work in trouble as staff going back home....Local private clinic closing ditto...Bus company short of drivers ditto...Not saying Brexit will be end of the world but it sure is pulling bricks from the wall...I mean we are actually seeing a Govt taking shipping space in advance and lorry parks on the coast...Don`t panic! They don`t like it up `em….etc...Stupid boy!

Stuff and nonsense to try and deflect attention from the illegal activity of Leave EU.

The rules are simply that the government can issue a leaflet just like they did for the Scottish referendum and others before them. Established practice.

And before anyone bleats and moans about it was "pro-Remain" well what the hell else did you expect as the government does have a duty to inform the electorate what they think is best for them prior to a referendum? You know, the government is actually allowed to express an opinion. Funny that.

Unlike Leave EU no illegality has taken place.

And after all the blantant lies shamelessly promoted by the Leave campaign and avidly supported by the UK right wing press, which is to say pretty much all of it, don't make yourself look stupid trying to pursue a " moral" argument over this.

Expected better....
