https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/sir-jim-ratcliffe-the-uks-richest-man-quits-country-to-save-billions-35x6jphxn

"A prominent Brexiteer and Britain's richest man, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, is set to quit the United Kingdom in a bid to save billions in tax, it has been reported.

The 66-year-old, who was knighted less than a year ago for his services to business and investment, is reportedly planning to save up to £4bn with a move to Monaco."

Even the well to do rats are deserting the sinking ship...strange how all the wealthy Brexit Believers (Ratcliffe, Dyson, etc) are doing the Tax Haven Shuttle.

https://www.techregister.co.uk/dyson-sweeps-100-back-office-jobs-out-of-the-uk/

"Dyson outsourced more than 100 back office roles out of the UK only months before announcing the relocation of its headquarters to Asia, said current and former employees of the consumer appliances maker.

The staffing changes came before Dyson made the surprise announcement last month that it was moving its head office to Singapore, where it is building an electric car factory, because of its growing sales and manufacturing operations in the region.

The switch to the island nation led to accusations of hypocrisy against founder Sir James Dyson, a vocal supporter of Britain’s departure from the EU, although the company said the decision was not motivated by any fallout from Brexit or reducing its tax bill."

Again, as in the post above, rich tax "avoider" tell the poor plebs how Brexit will be the best thing ever, while doing everything they can to get their money out of the UK before it crashes.

I await Woolster to tell us all this all part of Project Fear's plan...somehow...

Fine, upstanding, reputable newspaper. Not like they've never printed their fair share of fake news either, in their time. What was their take on Hillsborough again?

In case anyone’s interested... we covered these proposal extensively when they were published last year, and at various points in the legislative process. And when the legislation is completed, I’m pretty sure we’ll cover them again.

No, I won't be telling you that, because it is irrelevant to Brexit and Project Fear. I think it's going to be a tremendous disappointment to you when the UK doesn't "crash", Richard. For whatever reason, probably lifetime indoctrination, you chaps are desperate to prove that it is impossible to thrive outside the EU.

This, if true, is part of a process that has been going on for years, not just now. The wealthy look to save on tax and they use tax havens. It isn't as though he is moving to a major EU economy is it? It isn't a vote of confidence in the EU. He's supposedly moving to Monaco like Green before him many years ago. In fact if he wanted to go the whole hog and cut to zero tax he could incorporate his companies here (no corporate tax) and himself in Monaco (no personal tax on distribution). It's immoral.

My take on tax over the years on here is on record:

Should tax be as low as possible by cutting public sector waste? Of course.

Should everyone pay their share? Of course. Including multinational businesses who should pay tax on a country by country basis reflecting their activities in every jurisdiction to create a level playing field with indigenous taxpaying businesses.

This is just another case of everything negative being "due to Brexit", and everything positive being "despite Brexit". All of this at a time of record employment and massive inward investment. There is no way that Britain is going to crash.

Of course. "Brexit killed us." looks a lot better on your cv than "We fooked up."
