See how many of these have been delivered or look likely to be delivered.  Maybe dropped is too strong a word as many like Jacob Rees-Mogg still believe that they can deliver on these even though reality appears to be different.

1. More money for the NHS (£100 million per week cash infusion).  Didn't Nigel Farage run away from that claim on the day after the referendum result?

2. More money for farmers

3. More money for scientists

4. More money in your pocket (because we will not be undercut by uncontrolled immigration)

5. Scrapping VAT on fuels bills and tampons.  Any idea why this cannot be done before we leave?

6. No short-term economic disruption. Hasn't JRM predicted 50 years before we see any real benefit?

7. Brand new trade deals all over the world (start negotiating immediately for them to come into force after brexit)  How is that going?  Only 4 or 5 so far aren't there?

8. No damage to trade with the EU.  If May's deal is agreed then that is possible otherwise I am not so sure.

9. No obligation to follow EU law.  Guess what?  If you want to trade with the EU you have to conform to their product standards.

10. Cut immigration.  Yes, we have made the UK a less desirable place to live.

11. Introduction of a new Australian-style points based immigration system.  That is not ready yet either...

12. Stronger border controls (including preventative checks at the border)

13. BUT no border in Northern Ireland (the only land border with the EU).  So we will have preventative checks but somehow not have a hard border in Northern Ireland or a border in the middle of the Irish Sea?  Not sure how this will work because all an illegal immigrant needs to do is travel to the Republic of Ireland and walk into the UK.  Once there they are in the common travel area and free to move around the UK unless of course there is a border check somewhere else...

UK immigration figures out today.

EU immigrants down to 57,000 for the year to date, the lowest for a decade.

Non-EU immigrants up to 261,000 for the year to date, the highest figure since 2004. Source, Sky News.

Folks from the EU contribute more to UK society that any other group, including the indigenous population. Of course this is because they tend to be young, fit, childless etc etc so they don't draw much down from public services or finances like schools, healthcare, pensions etc etc. Plus moving back to country of origin is no big deal.

Non-EU migrants, on the other hand, are very likely to be economic and looking to settle permanently. Plus giving an opportunity for immediate family to join them and so forth.

Hence:

For example, a study by Oxford Economics (2018), commissioned by the Migration Advisory Committee, estimated the net fiscal contribution of EEA migrants in FY2016/17 at £4.7bn, compared to a net cost of £9bn for non-EEA migrants.

The plunge in EU migration and the large rise in Non-EU arriving is a classic case of bigoted brexiteers well and truly shooting themselves in the foot.

"Taking back control of our borders" - what a fucking HOOT that is!

The government's target is 100k pa. Overall, about 283,000 more people moved to the UK with an intention to stay 12 months or more than those who left. So a not very good performance by The Maybot et al. Still, we've all been promised that Brexit will solve all this. Good luck with that one....

Absolutely, once you start publishing your sources for every claim you make on this topic...

just state your point.........

Employer Costs:

  • £1,476 for a Tier 2 licence lasting for 4 years;
  • £199 for each and every certificate of sponsorship issued;
  • £1,000 per year for each and every sponsored worker (payable in advance);

Employee Costs:

  • £2,000 immigration health surcharge (for a 5 year visa);
  • £1,220 visa application fee;
  • Additional costs for dependants;

None of the above considers any of the additional administrative work required to process visa's for every non UK worker and whilst for a larger business these costs may not be nothing for an SME which needs to access skills from the EU they could be significant.

I suppose you do a lot of work for the UK Government then do you?

Tier 5:

"Your sponsor can be any of the following:

  • an organisation running an approved exchange scheme
  • a higher education institution (if you are a sponsored researcher, visiting academic or examiner)
  • a government department or agency "

I cannot see many small private businesses being able to use the tier 5 route.

sector. Examples include, but are not limited to:

Not entirely wrong.  Just clicked on the first tier 5 link (actually the top results).

Either way not many businesses will be able to use these routes.  Obviously, as always with you, it is a case of "I am alright Jack" and you ignore the impact on other businesses.
