I know you're just a Trolly McTrollface but it's worth pointing out the utter hypocrisy of that statement and also lack of empathy for the individuals and families affected by the announced, and yet to come, factory and business closures. Honda is not British owned but that doesn't make the Swindon guy any less right that Brexit is idiocy of epic proportions.

mojomonkey
Woody welcoming the potential loss of thousands of jobs, how unsavoury. Personally I hope Mini stays, for the sake of the workforce and the miriad of supporting businesses and businesses that are supported by it. The very idea that all that workforce is foreign is simply stupid. Edited March 5, 2019 by mojomonkey

In the case of the motor industry it is not just those employed by Honda, BMW or Nissan but also the local supply chain (direct and indirect) that benefit from these companies being in the UK. It is a similar case with the steel industry - look what happened to Redcar when SSI when into bankruptcy and the impact that event had on TATA Steel (admittedly when combined with an influx of Chinese steel). If you want a pre-EU example then have a look at the impact that the closure of the coal mines had on the local communities. Some areas were devastated and have never recovered. Freggyragh
You don’t get Brexit. They want to restart from Year Zero, with the experts and skilled workers getting re-education out in the fields - Brexit means Brexit.
