This was taken from the very link you posted; "It has taken several revisions for the current legislation, which was was backed by 348 MEPs, with 274 against, to reach its final form." If the MEPs didn't have any say, why did they vote to approve it? I think we all know the answer - you have bought into the anti-EU propaganda and will not admit that there are democratically elected representatives from all the EU member states voting on and approving the legislation that is introduced. Of course this particular piece of legislation will no doubt have been supported by the Tory MEP's because it favours big business who pay large sums of money to support the party and curry favour. Non-Believer
They've just voted in favour of all new vehicles being fitted with compulsory speed limiters in the near future. UK "to mirror the legislation" in the event of Brexit (3FM news).

Do you think MP's and our MHK's spend hours writing proposed legislation? Or do they give the civil service an idea of what they want and let them do the leg work before bring the proposals before Parliament/Tynwald? 19 minutes ago, woody2 said: speed limiters that you can override by pressing the accelerator....... Read the link that mojo has posted and educate yourself on what the system involves... Then again I did not expect you to do any research other than getting angry about it. Non-Believer
"They voted to approve it"...."It could be months before the European Parliament and Council formally approve the legislation". Sounds like consideration and possibly even more voting to me. But surely that doesn't happen in the unelected EUSSR? John Wright
So, T May’s latest bribe to get her withdrawal agreement through is that she will resign if it’s passed. How many errant Tories are likely to vote for that, not knowing who’ll replace her, and what’s in it for the DUP?

woolley
So Parliament seized control of the order paper so that MPs could say what they want. Answer: They don't support anything. But they do, don't they? They are slowly coming around to their strategy all along. Ignore the referendum and stay in the EU. Kate Hoey was the most honest person there and she really laid it on the line. "You are telling people they were too stupid to vote correctly so do it again till you get it right." I rather liked Baker's summation that the whole place should be bulldozed into the river.
