Max Power
Parliament has done just about everything possible to stop Brexit, now they are in meltdown like a mutual nervous breakdown. This has exposed the UK politicos and elites as complete dunderheads, very intelligent with no common sense whatsoever! The vote was to leave Europe because it is not felt to be in our interests to stay, every possible reason to thwart it has been wheeled out but to little avail. This from Mervyn King belies the myths... https://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/1107502/no-deal-scare-stories-absurd-brexit-ex-bank-of-england-governor-mervyn-king-mark-carney?fbclid=IwAR3vh7nzvVL4uPRVy2-xf-JFepnGyYx2zmusVAy2QAJ-IpCqxJkYcl7iWIU 1

What a shame he isn't still at BoE instead of that tit Carney. "It's the issues of identity, culture and politics that are motivating people, which is why I think MPs have rather lost the plot because when we hear people talk about the consequences of leaving without a deal, I wonder sometimes if the political class has suffered a collective nervous breakdown and lost confidence in the country." I'd go further. The political class has not LOST confidence in the country. It had none to begin with!

Say what you like about Carney, but the actions he took on his appointment as Governor of the Bank of Canada just before the 2008 financial crisis saved Canada from the worst of financial crisis. Mervyn King was Governor of the Bank of England for the five years leading up to crisis and ignored all warnings. His governance cost the U.K. economy £1T and oversaw the nationalisation of RBS. Whilst wringing his hands about banker bonuses in the aftermath he was a big supporter of austerity. He should really never open his mouth in public ever again, but he has no shame and is, needless to say, a brexiter. However the RBS and Lloyd's "take overs" were engineered. Broon wanted four government controlled banks Savings, Retail, Mortgage and Commercial. What the government did would have put ordinary people in prison. Even now, all we here is lies about it. Those takeovers were absolute scandle. Thank God it is now sorting itself out.
