mojomonkey
Seems to be a suggestion that an extension until the end of the year is looking likely. This lot couldn't organise a piss up in the proverbial, can't they just get on with it and leave!

The highest is Europe by some distance. There will be access to the EU market obviously, unless the EU does not want to make its (even larger) exports to the UK market. You are obviously not a mathematician as you only ever consider one side of the equation. You need to look at the totality. Here is an example of a financial establishment piece where the news is positive but all of the spin is negative. I see these all the time. https://www.ey.com/uk/en/newsroom/news-releases/18-06-11-uk-remains-top-destination-for-inward-investment

They've been working towards it ever since the referendum so it would hardly be surprising. It's in the EU textbook of course. Get them to keep voting until they come up with the right answer. In fact, with some of the half baked schemes now being given consideration (half in, half out, play by the rules, pay full dues but have no say, etc, etc.) you may as well revoke A50. I voted to remain but the majority voted to leave, so they have to leave. Don't see the point in another vote, what happens after that? Non-Believer
JRM's recent threats to try and create difficulties in EU business if the UK has to take part in the next round of EU elections doesn't appear to have gone down too well with the EU. The ERG Lunatic Fringe creating yet more problems for the Maybot to try and explain away during her latest round of talks.

John Wright
The UK doesn’t have a veto? Really? There are still lots of areas, foreign affairs, taxation, justice, constitutional change and the EU budget, where the EU still requires unanimity, so the UK has a veto. There are other areas, justice, home affairs, the euro, where the UK has a permanent opt out.

Are you surprised considering the ERG's rallying cry? If your business had someone as a director who was leaving would you let them hang around and vote on the future of your business or would you sideline them - put them on garden leave for instance - rather than let them interfere? Shake me up Judy
The ERG are turning this into a Brexit version of The Great Escape now, with Mogg as Escape Officer and Francois as the Tunnel King. Various other members are shuffling round the compound in rollneck sweaters releasing sand down their trouser legs and keeping up morale with spirited versions of Take Me Back To Dear Old Blighty. Redwood and IDS are probably building a plane from bunk boards right now, and Steve Baker looks about to crack and walk towards the wire. Just waiting for Merkel to tell them, 'For you Tommy, zee var is over' Edited April 10, 2019 by Shake me up Judy
