Are these not the very same voters that clamoured for all UK borders to be locked down to keep 77 million Turks (yep, that's all of them) out that Haw-Haw tried (and succeeded with half the population) to frighten us about on TV just before the referendum Correct. Just more Project Fear lies from the brexiteers: 2016 TURKEY IS JOINING THE EU! Soon 77 Million Turks will be coming to the UK to burn your villages and drive your women and children into slavery! Scunthorpe votes by 68.7% to leave the EU 2019 British Steel in Scunthorpe goes into administration citing brexit as a main driver Turkey buys British Steel Scunthorpe saving 4,500 jobs. Farage wouldn't have got far with that message before the vote. "Yep, they'll get in but we will stop them working or claiming benefits!" It is probably easier to travailler au noir in the UK than anywhere else in the EU and it is certainly possible to just walk into a hospital and get treatment without ID unlike anywhere else. Nah, this open border is a significant issue for those wanting to keep the foreigners out but they can't say that now due the anti brexit arguments which inevitably follow. manxy
Its amazing that a bunch of politicians go against the public who voted to come out of EU. I can see the same thing happening again as politicians will still take a no deal. Bottom line is that they should come out of Brexit and Boris should say to the LIberals, Labour, Conservatives for them to come up with the best deal on leaving brexit. If no deal could be done, then leave without any deal and pick up the pieces later. I'm sure Trump and Boris will get on great and lots of deals done between their car manufacturers and so on. They should use an incentive scheme of saying that for every day there's no deal, then politicians lose £10 a day each ... lol By crikey, that would get them moving

You may want to explain that to a number of brexit voters/supporters I know. They won't accept it from me. ETA: Project Fear or Fake News is the response I typically get. On 10/6/2018 at 12:10 PM, P.K. said: Accidentally ended up looking at some numbers. In the last year there have been 277,000 non-EU folks coming to the UK. Also 101,000 EU citizens which is down on previous years due, of course, to brexit uncertainty. Before the brexit-blinded play the "Migrants forced on us by the EU" nonsensical card just 21,666 were refugees seeking asylum. The others are work-placements and those here to study etc etc. Of the refugees seeking asylum 15,430 had their applications refused and were returned. Which is around the 70% mark. Ironically it seems that the shortage of EU workers has meant more non-EU migrants coming here. What a fucking HOOT that is! "Taking back control of our borders" - Errrrrr... Yeah... Right..... MWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Another little snippet: " According to the government’s latest review on immigration, by the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC), immigrants contribute more to the public purse on average than native-born Britons do. Moreover, European newcomers are the most lucrative group among them. The MAC reckons that each additional migrant from the European Economic Area (EEA) will make a total contribution to the public purse of approximately £78,000 over his or her lifetime (in 2017 prices). Last year, the average adult migrant from the EEA yielded £2,370 more for the Treasury than the average British-born adult did. Even so, the MAC recommended refining the current immigration system to remove the cap on high-skilled migrants and also said that no special treatment should be given to EU citizens." Those bloody foreigners! Coming over here with their................ work ethic. Would a brexiteer, let's face it there's enough of them on here, please explain how "taking back control of our borders" will somehow magically alter the amount of labour the country clearly has a shortfall of? The thing about EU citizens in the UK is that they are highly mobile and can and do move on to other EU member states. The non-EU migrants have only one aim - to stay permanently. What an absolutely classic brexit fuckup. Their "Leave" means more permanent migrants! Classic!
