Bobbie Bobster
Nice summary in The Independent today which could be titled The Madness of PM Johnson https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/boris-johnson-brexit-prime-minister-week-from-hell-police-fainting-brother-resignation-jo-johnson-a9095271.html It could have been, in other words, losing absolutely all of his parliamentary votes. Not being given the election he says he doesn’t want, and not being given the no-deal Brexit he also says he doesn’t want but is actively planning for. Jeremy Corbyn won't grant him his phoney no-deal Brexit election, and Jeremy Corbyn won't give him a no-deal Brexit either. Perhaps, indeed, it was realising that he’d had his best people on this, and their next move in the three-dimensional chess game they never thought they could lose had been a trip to the pre-cooked meats aisle at Tesco. Perhaps he’s buggered. ... Or it could be none of these. It could just be the simple, crushing reality, bearing down upon a late-middle-aged man who can see with terrifying clarity that for 50 years he’s had the wrong dreams, but they’ve come true anyway and it’s far too late to do anything about it. That he will forever be the worst prime minister the country has ever had. At least until the next one.

woolley
21 hours ago, pongo said: Labour and the ERG were equally wrong not to back Mrs May's deal Said that at the time. Should have banked that position and saved further progress for another time, particularly the hardliners. A bird in the hand. Offered a 4-3 victory they insisted on going for 7-nil. In danger of losing 4-3 for their pains. The remain MPs don't really surprise me. They were always going to use every trick in the book to frustrate the referendum despite 85% of them standing on a Leave manifesto in 2017. Treacherous lot. Johnson is not playing his hand well to put it mildly.
