It might be sorted straight away or it might take years, no one actually knows. If you're relying on stockpiling and imports there could be an issue. Someone manufacturing insulin in the UK would be a good business opportunity. Personally, I don't take any medicine regularly but if I did and that supply could be interupted I would be suitably concerned. I trust you've got your lithium stockpiled? yes they do.......eu and uk have already said.......

Then of course, there won’t be just other countries to think about, but also the competing priorities and demands of various industries and other interests within the U.K. - and if the brexit fiasco has taught us anything it’s that signing off agreements negotiated by the government is not exactly Parliament’s forté. When the U.K. has completed its ‘easiest deal in history’ - the one they now say they need yet another year for - then you can start telling us how easy it is. Until then it’s just your usual fairytale nonsense. 11% of trade.......in how many years deal with the usa will beat that.......

It's a serious point which you would rather avoid. Of course the brexiteers know why essentials are being stockpiled. Brexit, especially engineered by totally amoral narcissistic serial philanderer and inveterate liar Boris Johnson PM, could easily be one almighty clusterfuck. The French Douane have invested heavily in new IT and have taken on some 700 extra officers just to deal with the Dover - Calais crossing. THAT's why prudent suppliers are stockpiling. The final proof, if proof were ever needed, of how serious the situation is just last week Nigel Farage told the BBC that there would be no problems at all... Even if there was disruption for a few days or weeks, business on either side of the channel is not going to allow Brussels to impede the flow of goods which bring lots of lovely profit and, incidentally, pay for all of that EU largesse. Not going to happen long term. Stop worrying.
