There was a story years ago, where there was some mention from HMRC about some fraud involving sale of fighter jets to Saudi. When the Saudi's found out that the HMRC was looking into it, something along the lines of "unless you want the streets to run with blood, you will drop this". So while we bomb the hell out of Syria, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, etc, why isn't Saudi Arabia which exports all the terrorism being bombed? They actively cooperate with the West providing intelligence on radicals when they get it. That cooperation is really useful in combatting terror in the UK. With the fraud investigation into the Saudi Royals they threatenned to withdraw this cooperation. The result would be increased terrorist risks to the UK.
