Ha ha ha. Still lots of "Hopefully or Hope so's" I counted 5 "Hopefullys" 1 "Hope so" 1 "Don't laugh" Gotta feel a bit sorry for him. He's not an Engineer (not by a long way) so he has to try and regurgitate what he has been told. Shame we can't get the Project Manager on the radio and ask him/her the questions. First one would be 'Were these voids not there when the site was investigated pre design stage?'
Non-Believer
What has happened is that the voids from under Douglas Prom have done a runner to Liverpool...that's why they mysteriously couldn't be found in Douglas. 1

GreyWolf
Please can we line up all the real idiots involved in this farce wasting our money (maybe on the prom) and let the public throw soft rotten tomatoes or stinky kippers at them, that’ll teach them. The numerous idiotic mistakes our gov/ cs makes it could catch on to be a weekly event. Surely a proper survey survey should have highlighted the voids.

Ultra-cynical now, but maybe just another way of increasing the costs, whilst having a tangible excuse to do so, in the fervent hope the prolls won't kick off ! Two-lane
For some reason I find the involuntary response of the interviewer to be quite amusing (apart from the highly technical "all sorts and stuff"): http://cclark.uk/DontLaughPlease/DontLaughPlease.mp3

enbee
I am nor sure how relevant this is so I post it for information purposes. It had been proposed that the new access road to the Terminal would also give access to flats to be developed nearby. The road originally was was apparently exclusively for access to the terminal. The developers plans have been turned down and there is now to be an enquiry by the planning inspectorate. https://www.engageliverpool.com/news/west-waterloo-dock-plans-opposed-by-residents/

At no time has it been said Triskellion Way was exclusively for Steam Packet terminal use. Funding for roadway was partially by grant, award of which was based on Terminal and residential. Planning has been appears to have been refused on fairly standard planning grounds. Access isn’t one.

Not directly no , but we must have earned credits for all the money we have gifted to them by way of 'donations' by our great and good.
