Yes , you’d think they planned it..ohh wait

And back to the increased cost of the boat that only can go there 6 months of the year I believe.

Why can the boat only go there 6 months per year? And what price increase for the new boat? When? How much by?

"Funding for a new £3.5m Isle of Man ferry terminal in Liverpool has been approved by the Manx parliament.

The existing facility at the Pier Head landing stage is "nearing the end of its operational life", an infrastructure spokesman said."

Ah, those were the days.

So this last minute money grab is 300% of the original budget, let alone all of the other overspends.

I see Mr Thomas fails to mention the final cost or tell us it's still "value for money".

Maybe they should just move the decimal point to the right two places and be done. After all the reserve seems to be jsut another piggy bank to raid.

With freight allegedly. Price for boat. Mmm they haven’t said how much final price will be. Despite being asked for it. Will be amazed if it’s not more than current costs

The boats, both of them, can use it all year round, for cars, passengers, coaches. The reality is the Manannan will go between April and October ( no freight ) and Manxman will do one round trip every Saturday and Sunday November to March. Just like BMC used to do to Birkenhead.

Freight is emergency only.

There is also an operating hours curfew.

Manxman contract with Koreans was supposed to be fixed price.

The Manxman won’t go there during the summer because the Manannan will.

It'll be a winter weekend thing, like when the Ben used to go to Birkenhead on winter weekends.

An MLC said to me it's 120 million !

Hooper told me £100M two years ago so it's more than likely true. Will this latest request be the last though....?

Any money not spent will be returned to general reserves.

Ever the optomist eh?

The fact that you need even more money at this late stage of the project means there have been even more monumental fuck-ups that they couldn't hide and now have to do something about them.

Nothing ever changes.

It’s an absolute piss take now.

Probably why he won't say what the cost is. He knows full well the IOM has been fucked over

Back in 2015, the Steam Packet said Peel Ports would invest £15m in a replacement facility for the ageing Pier Head terminal - but would require a long-term financial commitment from the ferry operator. This would have come at no cost to the public purse.

But then the government got involved and the Manx taxpayer is now footing the entire bill.

Accompanied freight only. No unaccompanied freight.
