mad_manx
Flybe have become very agressive with carry on bag limits over the last few weeks . Every bag is checked with a sizer which should fit 'over' the bag. If it doesnt you are looking at £50 for a gate check in.. It used to be random checks earlier and you could squeeze the bags into the sizer. ;-). Not possible anymore.. https://mobile.twitter.com/Ross_Lewis/status/1090240102083817472 Edited February 7, 2019 by mad_manx
forestboy
Now they are threatening to wind the company up if shareholders don’t accept the present offers.

The one I bought is a few centimeters bigger than the new dimensions!!! Is this a consequence of the take over by Virgin? or a cynical money raising exercise for Flybe to ask another £ 50 for putting these bags in the hold? The new dimensions are.... 55 x 35 x 20 cms, just less that is normal! MHKs to address that? Full marks to TK Maxx for refunding on it. It's a way of raising extra cash! My bag has always fitted easily into the overhead locker but it wouldn't quite pass the test in the line! They've even employed an old boy with a box to go up and down the boarding queue to catch people out when they have no alternative but to pay up! Bunch of cnuts!

To be fair Max you agree to the conditions of carriage at the time you book

The overhead holders are a bit smaller than most planes, but they will take a normal 55 X40 X20 bag.

Andy Onchan
What happens if you bought a ticket before the new baggage restrictions were implemented?
John Wright
Have they changed the dimensions? Or are they just enforcing the ones they already had?
P.K.
Since April 2016 it has been 55 x 35 x 20. Sleazy 56 x 45 x 25 Tinker Airlines 55 x 40 x 20. Mind you, that's from the crib sheet I keep in my Cabin Zero.

Wizz however do 55 x 40 x 23 but they allow 32kg hold baggage instead of 15kg or 23kg.

Not that it matters too much. If the sale argument goes tits up then all the whiners who moaned about "flymaybe" will see the back of them and easyjet will have the monopoly. Larger hand luggage though.
asitis
Anyone any thoughts about the likely prognosis for travel if the shareholders reject the offer at the meeting on the 4th March ?

Will it matter with the way it’s been structured? All flying assets and the booking system and website have ended up in flybe limited. Flybe plc is selling flybe ltd to the connect consortium with completion due on 22/2. connect is also due to buy flybe plc if there’s shareholder approval on 4/3, but as the flying and booking assets will already have been sold and transferred 10 days earlier. It’s a rum way of structuring the deal, probably more to do with the bitter infighting at Stobart.
