Flybe nosedives on profits warning

Not on topic, but related - does anyone know why Loganair's website is listing London City flights until 15 November only?  Have I missed something?

They’re extending them week by week.

Remember the slots belonged to BA. Not sure who they belong to now, or who Logan are babysitting them for, or even if Logan have bought them.

Theres a rumour that they’re going to transfer to Heathrow, and use one of their jets, but again the slots are an issue. Flybe has ringfenced regional slots from when BA took over BM. They included the old Manx slots. They would normally have been lost by Flybe when it collapsed. But there are new issues about use and allocation following litigation and the administrator selling the Flybe name and assets to Cyrus partners last week.

I think Loganair were awarded slots for the winter at LHR for the IOM route. Not sure, in the current climate if slots are even an issue currently.

The remedy slots at LHR that Flybe used  are currently part of a dispute between the administrators and IAG according to the interim administrators report

Yet again Manx Radio (and Manx media in general ) incapable of doing their own research:

That’s how much of the MSM work across the world. Pinching stuff from specialist sources.

The frightening thing is that IoMG is apparently in discussions for another vanity project. A costly one.

EZY jet to LGW and a turboprop to LCY will be sufficient once things get back to normal. A small regional jet to LHR is never going to be a commercial proposition. The demand isn’t there.

We've managed without LHR for 20 years ( 6 months of Flybe slot baby sitting in 2019 apart ). The onward route networks via MAN, DUB, BHX, LGW and LCY cover any business requirements. For the rest of us, assuming the budget leisure market revives, well LPL, MAN, BRS, LGW, LTN will do nicely.

Of course. But you’re not surprised, are you?

Actually I was referring to the fact that I posted the link on Thursday (first)!

That’s what I was referring to.

The vanity of CoMin considering subsidising an LHR link is astounding.

Would it be any good to anyone?. ( I know your travel can be to odd places )

Well at least they made it clear where the article was from and linked to it.  A lot of media outlets just steal and mangle without attribution.

Yes I do have low expectations.

Heathrow mutterings just emphasise why the Government should never listen to 'businessmen' who always claimed that such a link was vital and never really used it.  City seems more convenient for most business travel - the only danger is if it gets shut down so they can build yet more overpriced flats on it.

LHR no good to anyone at present but maybe next year if international travel redstarts, much prefer Gatwick to any of the others personally

It's been so long since we've had a direct route into LHR that most 'businessmen' have either managed with other routing or put up with absorbing or passing on the costs between LCY &/or LGW to LHR and vicky verka. Taking the Tube/DLR to LHR with a large 25kg suitcase and wheeled laptop bag ain't fun. The coach connections between LGW/LHR aren't bad providing you don't get held up on the M25 because of lanes being closed due to the frequent pile-ups. And more often than not you have to overnight, either on the way there or on the way back.

Last time I was on my way out to LGW (heading for LHR) I sat next to a gentleman from USA who said that the only issue he had with IOM was the "God damn lousy transport links". We travelled together from LGW to LHR.
