Well there are only five business days left for that to happen.

Just seen your other post. So really Flybe Plc will just be an empty holding company after the deal holding cash from the proceeds of the sale of the underlying trading entities? So likely not that bad anyway as the operating assets will just have a new owner?

Exactly.

Thanks that makes it all clearer than what’s been in the press.

Asking a six year old Armenian to explain it via the medium of mime would be clearer than the impenetrable tripe offered up by the clowns at IOM Newspapers.

As FlyBMI also go into administration (Sky News online).

Airlines go bust around the world most weeks of the year, even the UK averages about one every other year or so. It's a cut throat industry and unless you have the economies of scale that Ryanair and Easyjet do you're going to struggle.

It's not just economies of scale. You need big pockets to secure slots. Of course it helped FR & EZ by being there right at the birth of low cost travel. Anyone trying to imitate either of them was/is likely to catch the flu not just a cold.

It's interesting that Logan Air have picked up the FlyBmi Aberdeen route, as they both share the same beneficial owners (the Bond brothers).

Agreed. In a fickle industry like airlines you're going to get constant churn of companies going bust, amalgamations and takeovers. Regardless of open skies policy we're always going to be more exposed than most with such a fixed customer size.
