Manxberry
I mean, the one good thing is that the drop in demand for travel due corona means less people are affected overall.

Derek Flint
Logan Air now cutting back on routes. https://www.loganair.co.uk/our-story/latest-news/2020/loganair-announces-flight-reductions-in-response-to-coronavirus-impact-on-forward-bookings Looks like they are going to feel the pinch
Manxberry
Yup, everyone feeling the pinch. As stated we're going to see a lot more airlines go bust, and I said that before the transatlantic travel ban!

Bin Open Skies - run our own service. The expertise is here to do it too.

We've got our own power station, we don't set sensible electricity rates. 1

They are operating under open skies, they aren’t state owned. Is it just like CalMac? A state subsidy? We could have always done that. And of course with flybe we did it indirectly by paying £155 per single journey for patient transfers, maintaining higher flight frequency than otherwise justified or economic. The arrangement is between the Regional and National Governments - so I am assuming it is a state subsidy. Some info here: https://www.ryanair.com/me/en/useful-info/help-centre/faq-overview/Making-a-reservation/What-is-a-Spanish-resident-discount Those Islands can withstand open skies because of their traffic numbers, I don't believe we can.
