RIchard Britten
There was nothing on the BBC or ITV news last night either. When I saw it on the BBC "News" web page yesterday it was two thirds of the way down the page.
Tarne
It's definitely an argument for better armed police training (or less armed police, if that's the avenue you want to go down) where your own weapon is used against you.

Rhumsaa
it's sad actually that every time you hear of an attack you assume it's Islamic terrorism or perhaps it's sadder that attacks occur all the time that you don't hear about because it's not newsworthy enough

mojomonkey
Bit of an update of this event in the press over here. Turns out the guy arrested is a 37 year old American from Colorado called Alexander Bischof. He's currently being held in a psychiatric unit. Maybe he couldn't handle proper strength beer and assumed that as an American it was his right to use a gun, the total idiot.

Are American cultural leaders and the American community in general doing enough to root out these kinds of people? Have all Americans been specifically expected to condemn this. Our beloved leaders spout the same rubbish every time an outrage occurs that terrorism will never win. It has. When anything happens now, the first thing that happens is that people assume it is terrorist related. Usually followed by a terrorist claiming responsibility whether it was them or not.
