Psilocybin and Ketamine, research shows promise also.

Yeah I genuinely think the Stoned Ape theory (or a variation thereof) is plausible.

Inadvertent microdosing from soil fungi etc. I doubt Cavemen got depressed.

Drugs of one sort or another have been around since the advent of 'modern' humans. The psychoactive properties of what grew around them discovered completely by accident. Some academics have claimed that these substances were intrinsic to artistic, linguistic, intellectual and spiritual/religious development in societies through millenia.

The ancient shamans, gurus, witches, and such-like were the pharmaceutical scientists of their generations.

If you pay a private consultant to prescribe medicinal cannabis, will this provide immunity in the event of a police wipe or whatever?

No, just as having been prescribed any other drug medically would legally absolve you from driving under the influence of it.  At best it might provide some mitigation.

(Obviously whether the drug wipes are the best way to deal with drug driving - at least in the case of cannabis - is another matter).

Before that even.

In the 'Nazi Dolphin Thread' (there's a phrase I never expected to say) I was saying about dolphins getting high on pufferfish. Rats and Elephants amongst others have been shown to like getting drunk even.

My opinion is widespread drug use amongst humankind began around 150,000-200,000 years ago. With experimentation previously becoming popular in Neanderthal society and being endorsed by crossover and Homosapien societies shortly after.

In our situation where we might allow personal home growth, there would have to be an allowance for sharing with friends? Not giving them a k to take away but allowing a toke during the evening? That's what made it an enlightenment?

That's the way it always worked, would be churlish to refuse!
