Time To Change The Law On Drugs?

You might have something there. However abstract it might sound to some. No drug/turf wars, gang violence, no shadiness. When cannabis laws relaxed in Amsterdam, after an initial rise in consumption, the actual numbers of Dutch using the drug eventually dropped to a lower level than when it was illegal. Markedly in the younger age-groups.

sort of predictable as the users are no longer getting to stick 2 fingers up at the law, some of the issue must be the need to not comply with the rules/laws

No mention of costings for the end-user though. Still, everything seems to be moving along nicely.

You read it here first, though they don't seem to have updated their website yet.

It's interesting that they say it was been relatively easy to bring this into Jersey and Guernsey.  Judging by the time-lapse it wasn't the same here.  No doubt the necessity of recruiting another dozen or so civil servants on £50k a year plus to monitor things, will have slowed the process down.
