As discussed a few pages back (pun not intended) the tribunal case vanished from the schedules in April and hasn't be seen since. Presumably some resolution was achieved. Gef ran with this, and the newspaper covered it briefly, but little else. Then again, the owner always stayed close to government... Looks like there is a related case in front of the Isle of Man Courts as well. See; Disclosure Judgment 15.05.24.pdf (judgments.im) None of these things do the Island's reputation any good. We seem to attract charlatans from around the world!!

I'm sure you know that the poster wasn't referring to her driving. It's a commonly used idiom indicating, in the speakers opinion, that a person gives the impression that they are more important than other people, can behave as they like, or has a right to tell other people what to do, or is entitled to preferential treatment. Driving a car that costs the best part of £400k is probably somewhere on the ostentatious scale and would merit the use of that idiom. Especially given that it was possibly paid for by UK tax payers money she conned out of a bunch of weak arse politicians for a load of PPE that is still sitting in a warehouse because it was useless. The British, and especially the Manx, and notoriously intolerant of showy displays of wealth.

My post wasn’t meant to be taken seriously. Ironically I’m in central London today and have seen several RRs, Ferraris, Lambos, and even a Bugatti Veron - and none of them drove like they owned the place. It really is offensively ostentatious for the IOM. It’s like you can’t afford to live in Knightsbridge or Chelsea but you can drive around Douglas trying to find free parking spaces that are 5 feet too small for your ridiculous car.
