Middle of 20th century the crime scene was nothing compared to today. There were no beheadings on the street, very little street crime in general, drugs supply was minimal, society in general was afforded respect. The wonderful liberal attitudes to law and order have changed all of that. Crimes are committed now that were not even conceived of back then. You mean other than the end of WW2, the Troubles, the explosion of heroin and cocaine use in the 60s, Nottinghill Race Riots, etc, etc. Quote Crimes are committed now that were not even conceived of back then. Yes, I imagine cyber crime was all the rage back then (/sarcasm). Bank robberies are almost unheard of these days because of changes in attitudes and increase security in banks, increased difficulty in obtaining firearms, etc. The world moves on (well for most of us anyway).
