Whats good for the Goose must be good for the Gander

In Tynwald yesterday Mr Rimmington voted against his Depts over housing grants for the over 45s. STOP PRESS Mr Rimmington only the day before stated that he had sacked Brenda Cannell from the Planning Committee because she had voted against DoLGE.

Mr Rimmington should he now sack himself????

We should be so lucky! Unfortunately, this isn't the kind of government in which people are willing to 'fall on the sword' for anything as 'trivial' as total incompetence.

IMO it is only the fact that there have been scandals on a larger and more public scale, keeping the spotlight off Rimington, that has enabled him to get away with being such an ineffectual and inadequate minister.

Peter Karran wanted an amendment to the 0ver 45s housing problem. His idea was for the Government to go halfs on the cost of the property and a low interest loan for the buyer. And on the death of the owner the house would be sold on the open market and the money being split 50/50 between the Government and family, this got defeated by the Keys
