I said it would be interesting to see how the old Griddles site pans out. You can’t help but notice it’s demolition. However, after the demolition it may lay idle for a while, it may become another car park. It may get put on the market as a redevelopment opportunity. That’s not to say that groundwork’s one the site may commence straight after demolition. Who knows, this development may get off without with any trouble - it will be interesting to see. It's not really a particularly big area. If they didn't intend building they would simply have left the tenants in there that were paying far more than any parking spaces could make. TheTeapot
No they didn't. KFC was the last proper tenant, and they left. Since then it has been, briefly, a pop up takeaway.

To suggest it would be flattened and be a place to park cars makes no sense at all. None. In addition I would be very surprised if permission was granted in the street to allow it then to only be demolished.

Apart from ringing up Ian Clague for a quote (or did he ring them with the story?) there's nothing new there that you hadn't already told us about on 9 June. You'd think they might investigate the situation where a car park making money for the people suddenly becomes one making money for developers. How much did they pay?
