Didn't seem to have too many problems changing the bus drivers terms and conditions. I don't see this as being any different

They seem to be able to amend and adjust to suit SE. Any mention of altering the T&C's of government pensions however are met with howls of derision

Must have been unwell.

I get where Wrighty is coming from but contracts and terms and conditions can be re-written. They’ve done it on state pensions often enough they just dint like doing it on their own.

Problem there is SoS is that there has to be an appetite to tackle the problem. Given this will affect the very people who need to re-write the T&C's means it isn't very likely to happen any time soon.

Eye watering

And/or obscene. And there'll be more than a few here approaching those figures with the possible exception of the quoted bailiff figures.

Why should it be anything like the normal old age pension?

The civil servants have a contract detailing the benefits of their employment and pension

The state pensioners don’t have a contract and we just get what the going rate is

I don’t see the problem and the bitching is just laughable

edit to add that all I will get is a reduced state pension

And that's the rub, we have to just rollover and accept reduced pension terms.

You chose to have a reduced state pension?

Yes

I chose to be a house husband / stay at home dad for short while

I lost out on contributions but gained massively from time spent with our children in their early years

I have NO complaints

But you must have more than 30 years contributions?

I do but told It is not enough to get a full pension

I think we bought back a couple of years worth, but not enough

I think looking back, I cocked up working self employed for a while too

so that may have been the major factor in reducing the pension entitlement

Their own website states 30 years contributions are required for a 100% category A pension.
