x-in-man
Picked up a lot of tips following a recent meeting with some bloke from North Korea. He'll be changing the clocks and threatening Canada next.
quilp
Hypocrisy is correct TSE. The UNCHR is an organisation with 50 or so sharia-based nations in its ensemble, takes it upon itself to complain about the rights of Mexican kids. The same organisation who accepted many states into its fold which have an exceedingly poor record of human rights toward its children and adults. So yeah, hypocritical situation. Declan
Oh look Quilp's ranting about Muslims again. Isn't the point of the organisation that you accept all members, get them to sign up to the principles and then hold them to account? They will not necessarily meet Human Rights standards but the UN committee becomes a tool to pressuring them into change.
Mr. Sausages
Can always rely on the US to stand up to the Saudis.

Are you denying the appalling human rights records of some of those member states now complaining about the US? Some of those countries use child soldiers, ignore women's rights, torture, subjugation etc., etc. The list is endless. And they're never held to account. Straw man. Who is denying anything? As the shinning beacon of democracy and freedom (lol) America should be setting the standard for human rights, not locking kids in cages. Which member states now complaining about the US? Trump's administration has no problem with appalling human rights records. He loves Putin and now loves Kim Jong Un. He's doing this to upset the apple cart (which Putin will like) and because Israel want him to. Of course he'll try to claim some sort of moral high ground, and his fans will lap it up, but he won't actually do anything to address the human rights issues you highlight. Pretty much the same as this, actually. https://www.ohchr.org/EN/HRBodies/HRC/Pages/Home.aspx Plenty of snouts in the trough there! Achievements? Look around the world.
