Regularly. Its a fact of life. Its nothing to do with leakage as when pipes burst they get shut off and repaired. I thought leaks were the thongs the MUA didnt know about I have never seen water running down the road for long periods on the Isle of Man which makes us better. IMO than much of the UK where I have seen water running for weeks.

That's true I agree, but that wasn't the question If they are push button showers the water use will be negligible I suppose. I hope they are

hissingsid
Someone in a previous post asked about instructions given, there has been an annoying kid on MR for weeks now lecturing us about not wasting water. I have actually been using less water since the price of leccy has gone up, making sure I have a full load before I use the washing machine, dishwasher etc. but as a nation we have been told not to buy bottled water but to get a water bottle, and I have, and fill it instead. Indeed there have been places where you are welcome to replenish your supply….so I reckon that by following these instructions from the Government we have all drunk the reservoirs nearly dry. That is my theory anyway. 🤣

Annoymouse
So is it in force from midnight tonight or midnight tomorrow? I think it’s midnight tonight because it says 00:01 29th July but my friend thinks it’s midnight tomorrow and it’s causing a bit of an argument. But according to Rob Callister, no one has ever been prosecuted for the offence. So that's the Chair[1] of the MUA telling not to worry about wasting water. [1] Or 'chair' as Manx Radio insists on calling - presumably because they think he's there to be sat on.
Cambon
I remember many years ago, there was a hosepipe ban and we were told it was getting serious. In fact, Cringle Reservoir became so low, the minister in charge at the time decided to empty it for cleaning. I have never really bothered with hosepipe bans since then.
