We're getting clean. chlorinated water delivered into our homes through a network of pipes, with a network of reservoirs, dams and sewage treatment. Its the reason we don't get Cholera out of the well water like Douglas did in 1832.

x-in-man
.and the guy down my road has just washed his car with the hose. Obviously 00:01 Friday 29th July is a Saturday. It's 51 bursts since the 5 of October last year. October 2021 - 6 November 2021 - 7 December 2021 - 1 January 2022 - 2 February 2022 - 1 March 2022 - 4 The system is not robust enough - warming up/drying out or cooling down/soaking in. ian rush
People who don’t understand the difference between climate and weather often find it difficult to understand that an odd day’s rain in summer is not enough of a reason to allow hose pipes back in action.

Agreed, Politicians also don't seem to understand, that insufficient infrastructure investment to cater for the current demands, is not a good basis on which to swell the population by 20K or so. Chicken and egg type of thingy !!
Nomadic Raptor
Heard today it’s nothing to do with water as it’s there but utilities company not wanting to turn on the pumps to move water between resoviours as it is so expensive to do, which makes sense if you think about electric and gas prices

Hosepipe bans are like Liverpool supports, cause and causality. A hosepipe ban is put in place and we have rain, People became Liverpool supporters because of their title triumphs and then it takes 30 years for them to win the title again. 1

Partly because of jiggling around and repackaging of the MEA debt too, don't be fooled. It was all combined when MEA and Water (WASA) were amalgamated. Since then they've variously split and repackaged again (Allinson) but some of your Water Rates is still where it comes from, as well as your "Toilet Tax" Sewage Charge. 1
