The UK figure is a third... https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/05/22/water-firms-told-leak-less-officials-warn-widespread-drought/

It's possible that the Island is more inefficient, but I would have thought that in a smaller environment with fewer stages in the distribution chain and shorter distances to pump water that less should be lost here.

the smaller environment seems to have the opposite effect on potholes per mile of road.

Recent rainfall has prompted United Utilities to end it’s short lived hosepipe ban.

United Utilities calls off summer hosepipe ban in England http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-45043191

Meanwhile here on Fantasy Island, we have had a good drenching, and the powers that be will dither, and Alex Allinson MHK will carry on playing at Fantasy Politics. If the water is running low, I would argue that Government incompetence is playing a major part of the problem.

I suppose it could be construed that if we hadn't had all the £Ms of investment in the water infrastructure over recent years a hosepipe ban would have been imposed much sooner?
