A very active season was predicted for the Atlantic, and while early Beryl was a record setter for a bunch of reasons, it has not quite gone as expected. So it's going to rain quite a lot in the Sahara, which means hopefully some lovely photos of desert flowers. Are we likely to be impacted in a negative way? There's been an unexplained cooling in the equitorial Atlantic, which earlier this year was at a record high. Talk of it becoming an Atlantic La Nina, which is a new one! Experts baffled. https://www.climate.gov/news-features/event-tracker/atlantic-nina-verge-developing-heres-why-we-should-pay-attention

There are certainly some strange things going on though.
The Phantom
Results are in for the Sept to Sept Storm season. 2023 - 2024 was indeed the stormiest there has been since they started naming storms in 2015. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/uk-storm-centre/uk-storm-season-2023-24#:~:text=The 2023%2F24 storm season saw 12 named storms%2C the,on the 22 August 2024. It would be interesting to see any data going further back than this though. This is despite me pointing out on one of the threads (Douglas Stinky Beach/Douglas Prom Wall?) that this year has been windier than a Labrador after a bean curry and being rebuked by the usual suspects.
