They didn’t have anyone decent to vote for.  They voted for a bloke who got paid to b3 children’s champion but didn’t actually understand the role, he will ride the gravy train and Onchan will keep joining with Douglas until it disappears.

But he topped the poll, not a sloppy second, was really my point.

Top 5 pound for pounder. I can taste the salty tears of his obsessive denouncers, reduced again to trawling his social media for titbits to be outraged about. Popular people will alway attract h8ters

You make him sound like a pound for pound heavyweight politico. Flyweight more like.

If he gets any Departmental role it’s either Starship Enterprise - where he proceed to screw up next years TT. Spend lots of Taxpayers cash on a new pointless temporary TT scoreboard.

And he can be Tim’s Right Hand Man, and actually stay awake at the Promenade Committee meetings.

Or if there’s any justice in the world ………….. Chair of the Office of Fair Trading. Let’s see how he handles Manx Gas.

Pound shop in this case surely? One of the few returning MHKs to end up without portfolio.

Obviously Alf Cannan rates him less than Tim Crookall. I wonder what RC has done to upset Alf?

Would love to see his thoughts of rejection in his weekly blog.

Well, and moorhouse and callister haters of course

there are a number of important positions  yet to be filled in Alf's line up , the most important of these is the  Chair of the  Planning committee which is a hard slog with much home reading and revision ,

also the poisoned  cup  at the Office of fair trading , who will take on the might of Manx Telecom and Manx Gas  on behalf of the consumer ,  as the last 2 incumbents have discovered its become a graveyard for politicians ,mainly because its a toothless tiger ,big job to be done here ! as prices continue to rise ,

also Head of the civil service commission  the hirer and sometimes firer  of government employees  and the link to governments relations with the trade unions ,

plenty for a budding back bencher to get their teeth into , but I guess many will just want to court the media , fill up the question papers and throw sh1t at the wall hoping some will stick ,

And who will follow Julie into the chair of the ailing post office ,?   lots of challenges there for politicians with a work ethic

Only because the last two incubants were useless. David Quirk was, well,  David Quirk; and Perkins confessed that he hadn't actually read the legislation he was putting through  "I'm not a details man". Both were rightly binned but probably not because they were chairman of the OFT
