Chairman Rob states that politics is quite difficult.

Does anyone know if Rob Callister MHK,  the longest serving member in Tynwald history not to have moved an individual members motion ?

I thought he blogged about moving, and passing, motions weekly.

That must be down to the cheese on toast. He should be thinking of changing his diet. Brussel sprouts help, as I've heard.

It’s an acknowledgment I think that he knows that he can no longer sell people any hope in his competence to do anything. He’ll still be stuck on his £70K a year while the rest of his moaning Onchan constituents see their home bills spiral and they can’t afford to pay for essentials. And let’s face it he’s head of the MUA which is the entity that going to ensure they can only eat beans on toast this winter as they won’t have any money left for anything else. He must know he’s f**ked.

He should be ousted from his TT tourism role, rolled out a consultation on the sly, hid the outcome for a year and declared TT schedule changes based on sweet FA.

Whilst I agree, he will be reading of whatever script Paul Phillips presented to him.

It does highlight that the process of consultation is to appear to care what the public think.

I don't think he would understand what has been presented to him, He is just a speaking autocue. The best thing he could be asked is what he has added to tourism in his role for the tourism industry.  On facebook no apologies, Just the same old shite, TT to be cost neutral and for those additional funds to be given back to vital frontline services,  Whilst the TT cost soar and frontline services reduce.

Aah yes Paul Phillips the bank teller who was given a job by Crettin Cretney years ago and fast tracked promotion in civil service, it’s amazing where a few O levels and a MHK who hangs on your every word can get you.

Rob is using that age old Tynwald trick of asking for large sums of money on the last days of term before they all rush off for their summer holidays. This time it is for sewage system that is costing a fortune. Apparently everything is so expense due to inflation not down to the useless systems they have installed and failed.
More money down the drain then!

Asking for an additional £16.9 million to complete the job supposedly to cover Laxey and Peel.

Prepare for total mayhem, disruption, chaos and decimated businesses in Laxey, Peel and surrounding areas. Coupled with the knowledge that the budget will overrun and will probably cost the taxpayers double if not more - the Capital Projects Unit of the Treasuuy will have to get involved.

following the  recent revelations  by Chris Robertshaw , that the MUA are being dishonest  with their treatment standards and massive costings , together with future energy costs required to pump this sewage to Garwick treat it,  and pump it back to Laxey to discharge into the short sea outflow ,  it would make sense to refer the motion to a scrutiny committee to make sure the standards and being met ,the figures stack up .and we are not left with massive  energy costs  for generations to come ,

Peel is not quite so complicated , but never the less  a lot of money wasted  buildings  demolished site cleared , and now were going to put the treatment works somewhere else , ,and what about all the iris tanks under peel promenade installed at a cost of many millions of pounds , are they redundant now ?

time all this was fully investigated ,  the public have a right to know !
