A helpline, snow, dog poo and bin monitor. He’s really good at it too, but it’s not what we pay him for. We pay him to be a statesperson but, when push comes to shove, he hasn’t got it in him and when he gets involved in official government business, chaos reigns What’s the answer? He was voted in and he will be voted in again because what the people want is someone to help them and sort their problems and signpost them to services and who is available day and night by landline, mobile, and social media and in Rob they have found their saviour, and in them Rob finds the daily validation that he needs. But it’s not the job of an MHK. 3 1
cissolt
He does seem to fill a void for the elderly in onchan. I agree it's not the role of an mhk or commissioner, whose role is it though? What did people do before they had a helpful handyman on Facebook?

It’s really a form of granny farming to extremes, as opposed to traditional granny farming prior to a GE.

One to start changing the lightbulb and a clone to replace him when he gets sacked halfway through changing the lightbulb.

2112
Another Rob Callister Facebook post handing out his appreciation for all the IOMG departments and the emergency services, for their work over the last 24 hours. I’m sure they appreciate the praise and the recognition, but sadly praise from a politico who parted company as the ex Health Minister under circumstances, where rumours abound as to how he interacted with civil servants. Really Rob Callister can’t help himself, he should adopt a vow of silence, stay off social media, and certainly quit the granny farming routine, which quite frankly is becoming boring. The island suffers periods of weather related issues throughout the year, storms, snow, heavy rains and drought (as evident by hosepipe bans). By Rob Callisters constant sucking up with his praise of anyone working for emergency services or government, then taking a job within government, which impacts on their financial wellbeing and other aspects.

It would be a really useful role for somebody.
Mr Helmut Fromage
Having clicked on the first page of this thread in error / sausage finger mode - it makes excellent reading of simpler times but shows how many knew his limitations back then- enjoy yourselves 👊🏻 1
