The reason it’s still on agenda is Juan Watterson & other high profile bods who want to save a derelict building because it’s old! Interfering in local decisions & pushed a protected building order

They may not even care that much themselves, but they're aware of a very angry group of social media rabble rousers who regard the Cosy Nook as sacrosanct.  It's therefore easier to not upset them.

Yes. I guess some do it just to court popularity. When it comes to it though they have no credible alternatives. No skin in the game. More rotting buildings and eyesores. FGS what is happening with the Cosy Nook Nook now

Find it quite remarkable that 3 years ago the building was deemed run down and not useful and was fenced off. Then all of a sudden palms were greased and still after zero investment in the buildings it’s still up for rent. Ah well.
Any one but Noa for me.

Is it April 1st already?

"any use of the building may need planning permission because the Cosy Nook is a registered building"

Incredible.  So what they actually want to rent out is a small flat patch of concrete next to a ramshackle falling down cottage.

Someone will be advertising Newsons for sale again next week.

Or, I suspect something similarly brilliant as the Peel Beach Pop Up bar.  Which was finally granted planning permission to open.... at the end of August.  Literally days before the end of the summer. Sensibly they've sacked it off and are not doing anything now until next summer, but that's an entire summer's wasted effort and revenue thanks once again to the Planning Circus.
