Need to fix the harbour walls in Ramsey first, the sunken gardens and the walls in Douglas and the pollution in Peel harbour before setting out on any other grandiose schemes.

Typical of all that's wrong with gov, at the moment.

yeah, but it's not Government proposing the development of this marina, it's a private company.

All above are Govt issues (or maybe Douglas Council in case of the walls)

Dr Allinson was on MR yesterday, growing frustrated with the lack of progress, saying it's been talked about for 5 years but nothing has happened.

"Where's the money?" was his line...

They've not even submitted a planning application yet, can you imagine how long that's going to take...and the cost thereof.. with all the professional fees/surveys/reports involved, doubt they'd have much change from £500k, just for the application.

No-one is going to put any substantial money into this before they've got planning, and even then, the back of a fag packet figures just don't stack up for their existing proposals IMHO.

Looks like his aim is to ruin Ramsey.

It was never about a marina. These jerk offs just wanted to build high price homes then do a flit with the money. Allinson should just step up and tell them to do one. Concentrate on tidying up Ramsey and make it look a bit more attractive

Noooo.....his line was that he wanted to see some realistic proposals for the financing before he gave it further backing, as I heard it.

Good luck with that wish...

That fact that he's prepared to back the scheme if finance is in place is what's bad - the South shore should be left alone. He should be telling the marina fanatics to sling their hooks elsewhere.

I completely disagree.  It would be the best thing to happen to Ramsey and possibly the island for decades if it came off.

It probably won’t thought because of all the haters towards any progress.

Destroying the south shore is not progress. Anyway it's a fantasy scheme.
