lisner
Tell the BBC to stuff their licence fee. Same as Ireland, France, Belgium, Holland, Norway etc. etc. When Richard Corkill met with the BBC he should have said no licence fee as his opening gambit. Not moan that we want more coverage. We DONT want BBC coverage. BBC coverage of the Isla of Man has always been harmfull and/or rubbish. So. That little idea will save us £5million, but to achieve this (very improbable) it will be a major political hassle and would be a very hard fought for sum. £120 quid per house. Now for the remainder. £175million or whatever amount it is we're going to have to find.
Amadeus
Hmm..the Brothel and pron idea sounds good, so once we have the adult industry over here (a multi-billion dollar business), why not go all the way and steal blackpool's crown along the way? Let's make the IOM the "Las Vegas of Europe" - perfect location and loads of space for casinos (well, we might need to bulldoze Ramsey for the new "Strip", but hey...) Siegfried and Roy's Tigers can play in the wildlife park, Celine Dion performs in the Villa Marina, Stav's kebab hut is transformed into the Hard Rock Cafe and all the working girls can occupy the empty flats along the prom. Roll in the $$$...
