More bits dug up on the prom this week I see.

Also where they have replaced the tarmac they haven't bothered keeping the groove between the tarmac and the concrete.

It is just a great job all round.

Isle of Man Newspapers: Crookall ‘more confident’ horse trams will run this year

The army of spin doctors and media advisors etc must have finally got Tim to use the term 'more confident' rather than his previously much used word 'hopeful'.

ETA: just read the article:

This follows his comments in Tynwald last week when he said he was ‘not hopeful’ it would happen.

Yes, "more confident" sounds better than "hopeful".

The fact that bugger-all will have changed in the reality prospects is irrelevant to these people.

HaHa. Everything is relative.

'More confident' could be a change from 'absolutely no confidence' to 'very little confidence'

Why does he not say he is 'committed to making sure' it happens?

'Hopefully' he will show more resolve

Spot on.

A weak willed, somewhat lilly-livered Minister just means more and more tax-payers' money in the contractors' pockets, and more and more delay.

Someone needs to get a grip of this project and the direction has to come from competent political level.

...and spot on cue, Manx Radio report:

App based parking a 'fairly good solution' says DOI Minister

I don't mean to be offensive or anything like that, but this is serious stuff. The beauty of being a postman is that the task is binary: The letter is either put through the right letter box or it is not. If it is not then it can be easily resolved.

Politics is not like that. Being a Minister is not like that either.

His interview on MR this morning was dreadful, four perhaps five hopefully’s when the horse trams were being discussed ending with more confident than last week but still unsure.   The Marine Drive is being left alone as old people like to drive up and admire the view or walk to the other end…..he touched on the railings but no real appetite to do anything.    It was pathetic, I appreciate he cannot promise results whilst there is uncertainty about the points problem but he would have been better saying nothing at all it was embarrassing in the extreme.    This is a Government Minister who is in charge of probably the biggest department and certainly a very important one, perhaps this is the problem it is unwieldy and needs to be made into two departments.
