piebaps
Here's a couple of extras https://www.gov.im/residents/roadnotifications/Notification.aspx?id=29381 5th to 21st August between Signpost and Hilberry. Two way traffic lights 9-4 daily. Plus 4 way traffic lights on Victoria Road 24/7 from Monday for a week They really are shutting Douglas down. Holte End
With the work supposedly to be finished on 1st April, can guess a few excuses why they will over run. 1) Due to adverse heavy rain unexcepted for the Isle of Man, for this time of year, work will not be completed in time. 2) Unfortunately a high tides that was unprecedented has held up works. 3) The services which were required to be run in conjuction with the works have been held up due to Covid. 4) The lone worker on the Promenade during the night had his shovel stolen.

Don't forget the second wave! There has to be a second wave they can blame as well! Edited August 6, 2020 by Southfork

It splashed the back of the envelope they had written the plans on and they had to start all over again.
Two-lane
This image is from the MyProm webpage. The black and light grey road surface will become black 'n' crap in a very short time. Then the TT arrives and the bikers will be adding donuts to the design. The grey strip in the foreground is the horse tram tracks, so as the image shows, children will be walking in between two sets of traffic. The skirts on the horse trams are nowhere near as comprehensive as on a modern tram. If a child does go under a tram, the flanged steel wheels running on steel rails will take off a hand or foot. Maybe it will look better when the double yellow lines, multiple Give Way signs and piles of horse manure are included.

Then digging it up again later to redo it in the black/grey colours.

Infrastructure Minister Tim Baker has confirmed work is on schedule on these areas, despite some unforseen problems: ffs I forgot unforeseen, that old chestnut. Baker must think we public are as daft as he is. How long have these people been doing this kind of work, there should be no surprises in this kind of work. Just another way to increase costs. I also forgot another excuse, that if the job is really going to go over the date, find a viking burial ground and have to call in the archaeologists.
