It will be interesting to hear any reports, though I suspect many people will just continue to avoid the Prom as a general clusterfuck zone anyway. That cross over for pedestrians and cyclists is slap bang in the middle of the Castle Mona junction and took five minutes for me to be able cross today. Crazy idea with no consideration for those on for as to how they are supposed to cross.

Yes it’s all a bit of a faff and annoying but it is what it is but you can still do a decent prom speed walk.

NoTail
Since when did street lights become lighting columns? Maybe you pay more for a lighting column
Holte End
41 minutes ago, NoTail said: Since when did street lights become lighting columns? Maybe you pay more for a lighting column There are no lights at the top of the lighting column, you have to pay extra for that and that's when it becomes street lights. Two-lane
Quote: "The Department of Infrastructure later confirmed: ’From the inception of the scheme, it was always the department’s intention to future-proof the rail installation by ensuring it could facilitate both the MER rail and modern trams. There were no additional costs associated to this" Those elegantly slim columns will not support the weight of the overhead wires for the MER. It will take some bloody thick columns to take the weight, across the full width of the prom. It may be what Longworth fantasises about in his dreams, but the view will not be so attractive when all the wires and support columns are up. And where are these 3-foot gauge modern trams coming from? But there are no additional costs...

It was Lisbon = Portugal. Hopefully that lesson will have been learned, so they'll try somewhere closer to the right gauge next time. 1

I spotted a couple of them a month or two ago laying in amongst rubble and spoil over Queens area . No sign of protecting them in any shape or form .
