thesultanofsheight
11 minutes ago, Anyone said: Not if you put the DOI in charge of that it won’t. Nick Biack on the radio today was hilarious. So if they have got it all wrong on disabled access all the curbs etc will have to be ripped out as clearly it’s important that it’s all set up for disabled access. He was a bit sketchy on who they had actually consulted on the disabled access requirements though. He said the top blind charity but presumably couldn’t remember their name or who they consulted!!

To be fair to them ( the DOI ) they consulted Manx Blind Welfare. No idea what the advice was or the outcome but the did it would seem consult the correct body. Probably ignored them though as they know better anyway. Manx Gov consultations tend to be like that.

Two-lane
Possibly this one: https://www.manxradio.com/news/isle-of-man-news/prom-works-dont-breach-equality-rules-says-doi-boss/ But it is not clear to me from that clip if the fault lies in the design or the implementation. Amadeus
One bit I discovered from the audio is that the cracked pink concrete is being fixed now https://frankdrives.com/remedial-work-now-underway-to-fix-cracked-pink-prom-concrete/

I walked a 300 mtre or so length of the pink concrete and counted over 460 cracks of all different widths and lengths . Also be interesting to see how the repaired cracks will blend with the now older concrete which even now already is fading in different rates . I watch very interested . Hope it does work though ! ellanvannin2010
From the levels this looks like the final surface that the DOI are putting in on the pavement just north of the Palace. Not exactly a top quality finish, two completely different shades.
