They always do with no traffic on them. Let’s see what it’s like when chokka with parking, and when there is eventually a horse tram trotting up the middle...

Is it trotting down the middle? They’ve got the curve in the tracks past Broadway to direct the trams onto the seaward pavement.

Why the strip down the centre. Thought the trams were going on seaward side pavement?

Means they don't have to change the existing parking regulations just for this Christmas?  Presumably there will be more tweaks before it's finalised.  Not that the DoI ever cares much for legalities.

I find Tim Baker’s performances on the radio quite fascinating. He is a man confidently stating his ability to swim whilst floundering around in a septic tank filled by Nick Black. It is difficult to decide whether the pleasure of saving him would be greater than watching him drown. I am tending toward the latter.

Suppose it’s a central lane separator? Wonder if that complies with Manx Signs?

I seem to remember that on the original plans it was labelled as 'pedestrian refuge', but yes, it's basically a lane separator

It’s all very confusing. Further up red tarmac means ‘there be trams’.

It’s shown on the plan anyway. You wouldn’t put a different coloured central strip down the centre of the carriageway at great expense to save on the cost of a parking order? Oh, wait, it’s DoI, so possibly

Yes, it's notable now that he's lately now stated at least twice that he inherited this situation.

Which is true, but it seems to be being uttered more frequently the deeper he gets sucked into the mire. DOI will pull him under, drown him and then eject him with a large burp. As they have done with those who came before.

Maybe the red tarmac won't show the bloodstains, arising from the confusion, up so much....?

According to the DOI in this article

http://www.iomtoday.co.im/article.cfm?id=52764&headline=Douglas Promenade: Concrete tramway was most cost effective says Department of Infrastructure&sectionIs=NEWS&searchyear=2019

"differentiating the tram corridor from the asphalt roadway was a ’necessary health and safety requirement’ that ensures that pedestrians are aware of the change in their environment."

So it begs the question, if the red concrete is to do that, what is the change in environment in the middle of Loch prom as it is not for tram tracks?.

It means that they put it in place. Then changed their plans. But it was too late so for the next 100 years people will be visiting here wondering what that big red strip in the middle of the road is supposed to be for.
