Quote from the official myprom website in September "As a further benefit, these changes will allow Auldyn Construction the opportunity to complete the works at the Broadway junction, including the decommissioning of the old 400mm cast iron gas main, in a more efficient manner. As the junction will now stay closed when it was going to reopen to traffic, albeit under four-way traffic light control, the construction of the new Broadway junction will be completed in its entirety and will be opened to traffic by the end October 2020. " So surely they cannot go back on their word that would make them a laughing stock

We saved something like 90 grand going modular with the police custody block, because Wernick did it all in house. Re the £200,00 the designers are fetching after putting up an appeal when the big cash prize was originally awarded to a UK company? Maybe this is based on a percentage of the overall cost, whatever that is (when making a ballpark figure in IoM that is guesstimate plus a zero or two) the land does not have to be purchased. What is a good salary for a design architect? Let's be reasonable/generous and say £100,00. The design for this job would have the equivalent of a well paid architect for 2 years. Well what can you say to that?

And yes they are a laughing stock ! Or is it us for putting up with such incompetence .

the stinking enigma
Maybe instead of a pole there will be a flume type arrangement in the new one.

It has to have a fucking obligatory curvy roof like the Power Station, Incinerator, Ramsey Swimming Pool, NSC etc. They cost loads and loads to design. Whether an airport shed for fire engines needs one is another matter.
